Randy Orton Front & Centre For WWE After WrestleMania
Randy Orton might not be on the WrestleMania card, but WWE have major plans for the icon following the biggest show of the year.
Randy Orton’s road to WrestleMania looked set to put him on a collision course with Kevin Owens months after Owens viciously turned on Orton and put him out of action. But that match won’t be happening.
Kevin Owens has been forced out of WrestleMania due to injury and has now undergone neck surgery that could keep him out of action for an entire year. Randy Orton has broken character to pay tribute to Owens, but he still hopes WWE find a place for him on the grandest stage of them all.
While that might be up in the air, it seems WWE has big plans for Orton after WrestleMania, no matter what happens.
Randy Orton On WWE Backlash Poster
Triple H revealed the poster for Backlash on May 10 on social media, featuring Randy Orton front and centre. The event will take place in Orton’s hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. Given he’s the hometown hero and now prominently featured on the poster, it seems Orton will be part of a headline bout on that show.

Speaking to Complex, Randy Orton shared his own thoughts about Backlash and noted he assumed WWE would have major plans for him at that show:
I hope, and I would assume that there’s some big plans in the works for St. Louis. But I think we gotta get through WrestleMania first and see where all the dominoes land and go from there.
I’ve got a suite lined up at St. Louis for Backlash. That’s May 10th, and I’m gonna have, I think that suite holds like 30 to 40 people. So I plan on doing whatever I can to show out for the hometown, that’s for sure.
The last time Randy Orton competed in his hometown was back at the 2022 Royal Rumble when he was part of the Rumble match won by Brock Lesnar.
