Randy Orton To Clash With Familiar Face In WWE KOTR Final

Randy Orton

Randy Orton now knows his opponent in the final of the WWE King of the Ring, as Night of Champions gets a blockbuster match.

On the June 20th edition of SmackDown, Randy Orton picked up a huge win over Sami Zayn in the semi-final of the King of the Ring. Orton knew he’d face one of two men in the final that he was very familiar with, Jey Uso or Cody Rhodes.

The other semi-final between Uso and Rhodes took place on the June 23rd edition of Raw in a battle between two men who used to be WWE Tag Team Champions.

Cody Rhodes Facing Randy Orton At Night Of Champions

In the end, it was Cody Rhodes who came out on top to book his place in the King of the Ring final. Rhodes and Orton will clash at Night of Champions, with the winner not only being crowned King of the Ring but also earning a world title match at SummerSlam.

Orton and Rhodes’ history dates all the way back to the late 2000s when a young Rhodes was teaming with Ted DiBiase Jr., and both men followed Randy Orton in Legacy. The faction ended in a total split with Orton defeating Rhodes and DiBiase Jr. in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 26.
