Randy Orton Auditioned For Massive Marvel Movie Role
The legendary WWE superstar Randy Orton has revealed that he attempted to become part of the Marvel Universe.
Randy Orton is most known for being a WWE superstar who has been on the main roster for 22 years and has an impressive 14-time World Championship reigns that truly makes him one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.
In addition to his WWE run, Orton has had some movie roles as well, but there isn’t anything that significant in his acting resume.
However, Orton has revealed that during an interview with Cody Rhodes on “What Do You Want to Talk About?” on WWE’s YouTube channel he read for the part of Cable in the very successful “Deadpool 2” movie. As Orton shared, acclaimed actor Josh Brolin got the part.
“So I do auditions here and there and I remember I got an audition early on when I finally got some representation in that industry and I think Deadpool 2. Cable. I read for Cable and in my head, boy, I was gonna be Cable. I was gonna be Cable and I was like, mhm, this is it. Nope. No callback, no nothing. ‘Yeah, thanks.’ Josh Brolin gets it. Of course Josh Brolin gets it. Kills it.”
“I don’t know what the f**k I’m doing, and I think I kind of realized then, like, oh, okay. So I can send in these auditions but, I’m a pro wrestler, and I think I really enjoy being a pro wrestler and everything that it’s given me and I don’t think I’ll ever leave this place (he laughed).”
Randy Orton’s Wife Will Decide When He Retires
It was revealed recently by Randy Orton that he signed a new five-year contract with WWE. The 44-year-old Orton has said that he wants to wrestle until he is 50 years old, which would be 30 years after he signed his developmental contract.
During his conversation with Cody Rhodes, Orton also revealed that his wife Kim will likely be the one to decide when he retires.
“To answer your question honestly, I think do this for as long as I can and make sure, we brought up my wife Kim on a couple of occasions, she told me, ‘When it’s time to hang them up, I’ll let you know.’
If this is when I need to hang them up, I don’t want to go here. I don’t want to retire and have a last match and then leave the company and have another last match and another one and another one.
Like John (Cena). When he says, ‘This is my last Royal Rumble. This is my last Elimination Chamber. This is my last WrestleMania.’ He means it. If anyone has ever meant that, it’s him. I want to follow suit. I want, when it’s all said and done and it’s over, I want it to be over. I want to take it to that point and then tear it down and ride off into the sunset.”
As for what’s next, Orton will try to be a 15-time World Heavyweight Champion in WWE when he faces the World Champion Gunther at the Bash in Berlin PLE on August 31st.
