R-Truth Left Confused By Shock WWE Release
If you’re one of the legions of wrestling fans wondering just what on earth WWE was thinking in releasing R-Truth, then you are not alone.
Just days after he was part of his biggest featured match in years when he took on John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event, R-Truth was told he was being let go by WWE at the end of his current contract, bringing his 17-year run in the company to an end.
After Truth announced the news on social media, the wrestling world responded with a huge outpouring of support for the 53-year-old.
And it seems there are more than a few in WWE utterly confused as to why the company has made this decision.
R-Truth Confused By WWE Exit
Fightful Select has offered more insight into the reaction to Truth’s impending departure. R-Truth is said to have been contacted by a talent relations employee over the weekend and informed that his contract was not being extended.
Sources have noted that Truth had not been in trouble in the company and had done nothing wrong. Many WWE talents were said to be confused by the news, including R-Truth himself. One top talent called the decision “total nonsense,” while another called the TKO regime in charge of the company “ruthless.”
Perhaps, the decision is even more baffling considering Truth had one of the top-selling WWE t-shirts in recent weeks with his “Ron Cena” merchandise doing well with fans.
It was also noted for those unaware that he has used the name Ron “The Truth” Killings outside of WWE in the past and could revert to that moniker if he ends up competing elsewhere. It is also believed that Truth has the right to his theme music used in WWE, as it is a self-produced track and was previously used for a spell in TNA.
