Major Prediction Made About John Cena’s Final WWE Opponent
John Cena’s long, storied career is drawing to a much-anticipated close this year.
The 17-time world champion has announced that his last match will take place in December 2025, and he’s made it clear this is no mere hiatus; it’s truly the end of an era.
Cena has already squared off with wrestling legends like Randy Orton, R-Truth, and CM Punk during his retirement tour. With his last date looming closer with each passing week, WWE fans and insiders are left wondering: Who will be his final adversary?
Some believe John Cena will tie up an old rivalry, while others suggest he’ll give the spotlight to a rising star.
O’Shea Jackson Jr. Weighs In On John Cena’s Final Opponent
On the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, actor and wrestling fan O’Shea Jackson Jr. tackled the question directly. Jackson explained that John Cena may end his legendary run with a classic WWE tradition: a retiring icon giving their final moment to elevate the next generation.
“So, man, I don’t know, but I think if I know how John is, it’s going to be somebody to pass a torch to a little bit, he’s going to put somebody over, as opposed to somebody who’s a vet, and who’s been doing it. So, like a Randy Orton or any of his past rivalries, I don’t think it’s going to be the person. I think it’s going to be someone of the new school that he’s going to put over and kind of have that traditional wrestling look up at the lights for your last match.” [H/T Chris Van Vliet]
Cena is set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. The American Nightmare earned the title opportunity at Night of Champions after defeating Randy Orton in the King of the Ring tournament.
