Potential Spoiler On Austin Aries’ Mystery Partner For WWE NXT Tag Team Classic; More Teams Announced
WWE.com has announced that Austin Aries will be entering this year’s second annual Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. However, Aries’ partner is still a mystery. This is what WWE.com had to say about Team Aries.
“Austin Aries has entered the 2016 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, but his partner for the tournament remains a mystery. All WWE.com could learn is that “Team Aries” has thrown their name into the ring for this fall’s 16-team throwdown.
“Aries has been constantly looking over his shoulder for the looming threat of Hideo Itami since TakeOver: Brooklyn II. With Itami joining forces with “Golden Star” Kota Ibushi for the Classic and looking to get his hands on Aries in any way possible, A-Double will need the right partner to help him avoid being kicked into oblivion.

In regards to who Aries’ “mystery partner” is, PWInsider is reporting that former Ring of Honor World Champion Roderick Strong is scheduled to make his NXT debut as Aries’ partner. The report goes on to say that Strong has been spotted at the WWE Performance Center and it’s believed that he’s already signed a WWE contract. The two men have a long history together going back to their days in Ring of Honor.
The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is a sixteen team, single-elimination tournament and of those 16 teams, 14 have been announced by WWE.com. The teams participating in this year’s tournament are as follows.
