Post-Battleground NXT TV Taping Scrapped
WWE has made big changes to an upcoming episode of NXT.
In the coming days, WWE will hold several tapings at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. This was scheduled to include Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24, NXT Battleground on May 25, Monday Night Raw on May 26, and NXT on May 27.
However, the May 27 edition of NXT will no longer be held at the arena. As noted on Ticketmaster, the event has been canceled, and it’s no longer listed on the arena’s website.
According to WrestleTix, 1,700 tickets had been sold for the taping, which will now be held at the Performance Center. No official statement on the reason for the switch has been provided.
Joe Hendry To Compete At NXT Battleground
Four matches have been announced for Battleground to date, and perhaps the most eye-catching will see Joe Hendry defend his TNA World Championship against Trick Williams. The match will mark the first time the championship has ever been defended at a WWE event.
The Scottish star has been a regular on WWE television since being defeated by Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41.
It’s widely believed that Joe Hendry will officially sign with WWE when his TNA contract expires later in 2025.
Elsewhere at Battleground, Oba Femi is scheduled to defend the NXT Championship against Myles Borne, while Stephanie Vaquer will defend the Women’s Championship against Jordynne Grace. In the only non-title match announced so far, Tony D’Angelo will square off against Stacks.
