A popular WWE Superstar may have less than a year left in his run, according to a former employee.

Ron Killings (R-Truth) initially joined the Stamford-based company in 1999 but was released three years later. In 2008, the 53-year-old veteran returned for a second run.

Ahead of Money in the Bank, the former 24/7 Champion took to social media to announce that his stint had come to an end as the company decided to release him. The news was met with massive backlash from fans and reportedly from his WWE peers.

The extremely popular superstar returned at Money in the Bank to target John Cena. The following Monday on RAW, he seemingly confirmed his character change, cutting his hair live on TV.

Last Friday on SmackDown, Killings continued to target the Undisputed WWE Champion. The two will now square off on the upcoming episode of the blue brand.

While addressing Killings’ future on The Coach & Bro Show, former WWE Senior Director of International Television Tommy Carlucci predicted that the 53-year-old will end his run with the company after WrestleMania 42 after winning the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble.

[You think he’s gonna be there for eight months?] Yes, I think his last hurrah will be WrestleMania and maybe he’s out by then. But they’re gonna jump on him big time right now. He’s hot. [48:59 onwards]

Could John Cena Drop The Undisputed WWE Title To Ron Killings?

While the Undisputed WWE Championship would not be on the line in John Cena’s upcoming clash with Ron Killings on SmackDown, Peter Rosenberg recently suggested on his Cheap Heat podcast that the 53-year-old could eventually have a world title run.

The WWE personality even wondered if Killings could be the one to end John Cena’s championship reign.

I would love to see Ron Killings get a world championship. It would work. I know I have talked about it. R-Truth getting a run with the title even at this age would work. It would be awesome.

I see a bunch of people now saying that now that we are seeing how organic this, now that we are seeing the stats which is saying his segment got more views than Cena and Punk. Yo, maybe he is the guy to dethrone John Cena. I am not saying he is, but I am not saying he is not.
