What’s next for a rising AEW star?

Shortly before the July 3rd episode of AEW Dynamite, it was reported that Daniel Garcia’s contract expires “in the fall.” The star would be a highly-prized asset should he become a free agent at just 26 years old, with his best years well ahead of him.

The report cited one top name who believes Garcia will stay with the company, while his future was tipped to come into focus soon.

That future appears to involve a match with MJF at All In, after the former World Champion left Garcia broken and beaten as Dynamite went off the air. In the main event, the star challenged Will Ospreay for the International Title.

Daniel Garcia Expected To Stay In AEW

Despite the uncertainty around his future, a new report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter from Dave Meltzer suggested that those close to Garcia expect him to stay with AEW. Unless he’s very recently re-signed, his current contract expires in October.

Daniel Garcia’s contract is up in October, unless he just signed. Those we’ve asked about it who know him don’t expect him to be leaving.

Daniel Garcia made his AEW debut in September 2020 and officially signed with the company a little over a year later.
