Popular NXT Star Makes WWE Main Roster Debut On SmackDown
A rising star on WWE’s NXT brand was in action for his first match on SmackDown.
Je’Von Evans is one of the most impressive wrestlers in WWE NXT, and the amazing thing is he’s only 21 years old. In just two years on the NXT brand, Evans has become one of the most exciting and must-watch superstars in the entire company.
Even though Evans hasn’t won a championship in NXT yet, he did headline the WWE NXT Stand & Deliver PLE during WrestleMania weekend with Oba Femi and Trick Williams. Considering it’s the biggest NXT show of the year, it’s a massive accomplishment for Evans early in his career.
At the WWE-AAA Worlds Collide event in Los Angeles, Ethan Page will defend the NXT North American Title against Evans, Rey Fenix, and Laredo Kid.
To promote Worlds Collide, Page was on commentary for a WWE SmackDown match in Knoxville as Evans teamed up with Fenix against Los Garza’s Angel and Berto.
Ethan Page Ruined Je’Von Evans WWE Main Roster Debut
There was a long, personal rivalry between Ethan Page and Je’Von Evans from late 2024 into early 2025. The story was that Page broke Evans’ jaw, so Evans was out for a few months before eventually coming back and beating Page to win the feud.
The match between Evans & Fenix against Los Garza was exciting and full of fast-paced action. That’s no surprise, considering Fenix and Evans were involved.
After Evans hit an incredible dive from the ring to the floor, he stared at Page on commentary. Page told Evans that his business was in the ring, not with Page. Page shoved Fenix into Evans, and Page tossed Fenix over the commentary table. Evans superkicked Page to knock him down.
Back in the ring, Evans hit a spinning kick on Berto. That’s when Los Garza’s buddy Santos Escobar distracted the referee, Evans went up top, and Page shoved him down while the referee wasn’t looking. Los Garza hit an MTY double team move that is like a double team spinebuster for the pinfall win on Evans.
Due to Ethan Page and also Santos Escobar, Je’Von Evans came up short in what was the first of what should be many WWE main roster matches in his career.
