Two Popular AEW Stars Expected To Sign With WWE

Tony Khan AEW Triple H WWE

WWE is about to make two more new signings.

After missing out on Will Ospreay, Mercedes Mone, and Kazuchika Okada, WWE has been on something of a recruitment drive for much of 2024. This has seen the company sign Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, Delta, Jacob Fatu, Tonga Loa, Tama Tonga, and Ethan Page.

Furthermore, they won’t be stopping there.

After weeks and months of speculation, it appears that the Lucha Bros are on the verge of signing with WWE. The pair were said to be looking to sign as a package deal but had no interest in starting in NXT.

As reported by Wrestle Votes Radio via Backstage Pass, a deal between the company and Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix has already been signed, or is extremely close. The report added that the sports entertainment giant has been “given the green light” to produce “masks, t-shirts, and promotional material.”

In addition, Cory Hays notes that the pair have signed a multi-year deal and will go straight to the main roster.

WWE Offers Top Star New Contract

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that WWE has offered Kevin Owens a new contract as he edges closer to free agency. KO’s current deal, said to be worth between $2 and $3 million per year expires in January 2025.

There is also said to be “major interest” from AEW in securing his services, and he remains good friends with several members of the roster.

In recent weeks the likes of Sheamus and Asuka have both signed new deals, while Damian Priest, Natalya, Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton, and Seth Rollins have all penned new contracts since the turn of the year.

There continues to be speculation linking Daniel Garcia with a move from AEW to WWE, but interestingly, he’s advertised for appearances for the company beyond the end of his contract. While this isn’t confirmation, it does suggest AEW expects him to stay.
