Plans For Third Weekly AEW Show Still On The Table

Tony Khan has admitted that AEW could add a third weekly television show.

Following the creation of Collision in June 2023, AEW hosted three weekly shows with Dynamite airing on Wednesday, Rampage on Friday, and Collision on Saturday. However, Rampage was scrapped in late 2024 thanks to the company’s new media rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery.

The company’s YouTube shows, Dark and Dark Elevation, had already been dropped to make way for Collision. However, there’s been consistent chatter for several months that the TV schedule could yet expand once again.

Speculation around a new show gathered pace in September when the company filed a new trademark for “AEW: Shockwave.” Crucially, the trademark was in relation to “Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests.”

However, those rumours came and went without an announcement, as did suggestions that the promotion had been in talks with FOX. But that doesn’t mean that AEW’s schedule won’t expand in the future.

Tony Khan Gives Update On AEW Programming

During a new interview with WFAA, Khan discussed the possibility of recommitting to three shows per week. While he steered clear of giving any details, he noted that there’s always “potential” to expand.

“There’s always potential to expand the AEW programming calendar. Right now, things have worked really well with Dynamite and Collision. As we’re having a great year, it’s always something to consider.”

Tony Khan also reaffirmed his commitment to developing Ring of Honor — something which could yet include a company rebrand. He added that there remains a chance to strike at “great opportunities” in the future.
