Pirates Almost Derailed WWE Elimination Chamber

WWE Elimination Chamber

Pirates almost had a huge impact on WWE Elimination Chamber.

On February 24th, WWE returns to Australia for Elimination Chamber, and excitement around the show is off the charts. Not only will the event have a huge impact on WrestleMania, but the card will be topped by Aussie star Rhea Ripley who returns home as one of the biggest wrestling stars in the world.

However, the build-up to the show has been far from plain sailing. During the Kick-Off event, Michael Cole noted that the actual Elimination Chamber structure took over a month to get to Australia thanks to pirates operating in the Suez Canal.

“A structure which took over a month to get here. Originally it was supposed to ship through the Suez Canal, but pirates ended those plans. So it was sent to Miami, transported via truck to Los Angeles, taken by ship to Sydney, and then by train to Perth.”
