Penta Upsets WWE Stars On Raw Debut
Penta is finally part of the WWE roster after his debut on Raw, but not everyone was happy with the former AEW star.
After months of speculation, the moment fans of Penta El Zero Miedo have been waiting for arrived on the January 13 edition of Raw as the Mexican star made his WWE debut.
Vignettes had teased Penta’s arrival in WWE and Triple H all but gave up the secret of the former AEW star’s arrival. If there was any doubt about Penta’s debut, it was gone hours before Raw when WWE went public with its merchandise for the star.
On Raw, Penta debuted and defeated Chad Gable with his Penta Driver. After the match, he took to the microphone and noted that it was not only a “Netflix new era” in WWE, it was also a “Penta new era.” But not everyone was thrilled with his performance.
WWE Stars Unhappy With Penta’s Raw Debut
Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that some WWE stars were not happy that Penta went well over his time which meant other segments later in the show had to be cut down to accommodate him:
We did confirm that between the 13 minute match and his post-match promo, Penta went way longer than he was initially planned to go, which led to time being trimmed from other segments later in the show. There were some talents obviously not thrilled about that, as you can imagine.
That said, we are told management was happy with the debut and with Penta’s reaction live.
WWE is believed to have a much more flexible runtime on Netflix meaning shows can run longer or shorter depending on what the company needs.
