Penta Sets Sights On WWE Champion
Penta already has plans to challenge a top WWE star.
Since Penta made his WWE debut in January, he has already caught the attention of fans and fellow stars alike with impressive matches against Chad Gable and Pete Dunne. At the Royal Rumble, the former AEW star kicked the men’s match off with an explosive contest against the Number 1 entrant, Rey Mysterio. He went on to last over 40 minutes, fighting everyone he could get his hands on before being eliminated by Finn Balor.
While he was unsuccessful in securing a place in the WrestleMania main event, Penta already has another champion in mind. During an interview with PJ and Pluggo of Between Two Beards for Love Wrestling ahead of the Rumble, the star praised Bron Breakker, saying a match against the Intercontinental Champion would be “more aggressive, more violent” than anything WWE fans have seen from him so far.
“Yeah, to be honest, he is one of the best wrestlers in the world. He is a beast in the ring. I like [to] face this kind of wrestlers because [it makes] Penta becomes more aggressive, more violent. But why not? But step by step. The first goal is the Royal Rumble.”
Penta Doesn’t Want To Be Compared To Rey Mysterio
While many fans are already making the comparison, Penta doesn’t want to be the next Rey Mysterio. While the star has a lot of respect for the Hall of Famer, he explained that he would rather be “the first Penta,” and he’s all too happy to go through Mysterio to make his name in the company.
