Paul Heyman Confesses The Rock & Travis Scott’s WWE Angle “Fell Apart”

Earlier this year, WWE teased a major storyline involving The Rock and Travis Scott as part of John Cena’s heel turn angle.

This angle generated high anticipation among the WWE Universe, eager to see the involvement of both a legendary figure in The Rock and one of the biggest names in music, Travis Scott.

The plan saw both celebrities playing key roles in the storyline, including The Final Boss’s return and Scott’s participation during significant moments like the Elimination Chamber in Toronto and WrestleMania 41.

However, the storyline ultimately “fell apart,” as revealed by Paul Heyman in a recent interview on The Ariel Helwani Show. Heyman confirmed that there was indeed a planned payoff for the angle involving The Great One and Travis Scott, but it didn’t come to fruition. This forced WWE to move forward without them.

“There was. It fell apart and we moved forward without it,” said The Oracle. [H/T Fightful]

The Rock never appeared at WrestleMania 41, and despite rumors and reports that Travis Scott was training for an in-ring WWE debut under Hall of Famer Booker T, that debut did not take place as expected.

The Brahma Bull himself explained on The Pat McAfee Show that he chose to step back from the storyline and WrestleMania to allow John Cena and Cody Rhodes to have the spotlight for Cena’s record-setting championship run.

Meanwhile, speculation about Travis Scott’s status in WWE continues. The initial excitement around the involvement of these two stars, therefore, shifted into a storyline that could not be fully realized, representing a missed opportunity that WWE had to adjust around.
