Paul Heyman Slams Emmy Awards For Ignoring Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns

Paul Heyman has torn apart the Emmy Awards for ignoring the portrayal of Roman Reigns in WWE over the past few years.

For well over four years, Paul Heyman stood side-by-side with Roman Reigns as the Wise Man to Reign’s Tribal Chief in WWE. With Heyman by his side, a ruthless Reigns stacked up victims and records as he went on to hold the Universal Championship for over 1,000 days. A record unheard of in modern WWE.

That all came crashing to an end when Paul Heyman screwed both Roman Reigns and CM Punk at WrestleMania 41 to form a new allegiance with Seth Rollins. But that doesn’t mean Heyman doesn’t think Reigns should get even more acknowledgement for his own performances.

Emmys Should Acknowledge Roman Reigns

Speaking to Ariel Helwani, Paul Heyman slammed the Emmy Awards for ignoring Reigns’ portrayal of the Tribal Chief in WWE:

Joe Anoa’i’s portrayal of The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, was the most compelling villain on television and the most ruthless character I’ve seen to this day… The fact [that] the Emmy awards do not recognise these performances is a blight upon the Emmy awards. They should be ashamed of themselves for ripping off their audience by not acknowledging, all puns intended, our body of work.
