Paul Heyman Faces Serious Allegations From Ex-WWE Star

Paul Heyman WWE

A former WWE superstar revealed some interesting moves that Paul Heyman did in the past.

The pro wrestling career of Paul Heyman has seen him in a lot of different roles, from being a ringside photographer, an announcer, a booker, an owner of a successful promotion, and, of course, his role as perhaps the greatest pro wrestling manager of all time.

Everything that Paul Heyman has done in pro wrestling led to his 2024 WWE Hall of Fame induction and a memorable speech in Philadelphia during WrestleMania 40 weekend.

It was around 20 years ago, in the mid-2000s, when Heyman was the main booker for WWE’s developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling. It was there that he formed his friendship with CM Punk and many other young wrestlers who went on to have great success over the last 20 years.

Former WWE superstar Ken Anderson (Ken Kennedy in WWE) worked with Heyman in OVW as well. While speaking about Heyman on his Mic Check podcast, Anderson spoke about how Heyman liked to control the narrative regarding what stories came out about shows he was a part of.

“I wonder how much stuff is fed by the company itself to media. Like Paul Heyman — when I was working for OVW and he first came down to start writing — he used to send out three different reports to the dirt sheets for every single show.”

The “dirt sheets” are what pro wrestlers refer to as wrestling newsletters, and other outlets that cover the wrestling business.

He’d bury some people and make the reports sound different enough, mixing in real complaints he’d heard from others so it all felt legit. Nobody ever suspected anything.”

As he continued, Anderson made the point that it starts at the top.

“This kind of information feed comes from the inside — right from the top. It’s all about creating a narrative. It’s like those moments when fans throw things in the ring, like chairs — that usually starts with a plant or a few people in the crowd who were told to kick it off.” [H/T RingisdeNews]

Paul Heyman Remains Involved In WWE’s Creative Team

The creative mind of Paul Heyman is still a part of WWE behind the scenes, even if he may not have a specific role in the company. Heyman explained that he’s part of the long-term vision of the company.

“Long-term meetings, I’m in. When we start talking about next year’s WrestleMania or the year after WrestleMania or the year after that’s WrestleMania or next year’s Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber or this year’s Survivor Series. When we start planning things out, I go to those meetings.

I’m not exposed to the weekly grind like the other writers who deserve a ton of credit. They’re exposed to that weekly grind, I’m not.”
