Paul Heyman Pitched Surprising Ex-WWE Star To Play Sister Abigail Alongside Bray Wyatt
Paul Heyman had a particular star in mind to play a live-action version of Sister Abigail alongside Bray Wyatt (and no, it’s not Alexa Bliss).
Recently, it was reported that pitches were being made in 2019 for some of Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse puppets to come to life and be portrayed by Eric Young and Mike Bennett. Now, an update from Fightful Select reveals that there were truth to those reports and sheds more light on the situation.
According to the report, Paul Heyman made pitches for Bennett and Young to be involved with Wyatt prior to their 2020 releases from the company. While the pitch never reached Eric Young, it did reach Mike Bennett, and the pitch was reportedly made more than once. Specifically, one pitch would have seen Bennett take on the role of Sister Abigail.
Though a previous report indicated that these plans were “cancelled,” Fightful Select reports that the pitch never made it very far during that time period.
The report goes on to note that there was once again a pitch for Eric Young to join Wyatt after he re-signed with WWE in late 2022. However, Wyatt’s disappearance from television and Young’s recent request to be released put a halt to any plans.
Eric Young is now back with IMPACT Wrestling, making his return at Slammiversary on July 15th to reunite with Team Canada coach Scott D’Amore. The pair defeated the team of Bully Ray and Deaner.
