Paul Heyman Mocks WWE Legend While Referencing AEW

Paul Heyman WWE

Paul Heyman took a shot at veteran WWE performer while mentioning the city that AEW is based out of.

The two main event matches at WrestleMania 41 featured endings to matches that were controversial. While the end of WrestleMania 41 Sunday with John Cena winning his 17th WWE Title has been criticized heavily, Seth Rollins winning the WrestleMania 41 Saturday main event has been praised.

It was a triple threat match between Roman Reigns, CM Punk and Seth Rollins with Paul Heyman playing a big role. Even though Heyman was Roman’s “Wise Man” for the past five years, Heyman was at CM Punk’s side during the match due to a favor Heyman owed his best friend Punk. By the end of the night, Heyman low blowed Punk and Reigns and helped Rollins get the big win.

An alliance between Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman been formed that could wreak havoc in WWE in the coming months continuing how smart the two men are.

Michael Cole was on the call for his 28th WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas and he was also on the Pat McAfee Show on the day after WrestleMania. During a heated exchange, Cole tried to get a scoop from Heyman, but that didn’t work because Heyman fired back with a retort mentioning their former boss Vince McMahon and an AEW reference by mentioning the city of Jacksonville.

Cole: I want to know how much Seth Rollins paid you to pull off what happened on Saturday night.

Heyman: About a dollar less than Vince McMahon used to pay you to be JR’s [Jim Ross] lackey. I’m sorry, were you going to the lowest bidder back then? Never saw you jump to WCW.

Cole: Never.

Heyman: I don’t see you going to Jacksonville anytime soon.

Cole: Nope.

Heyman: So you’re staying with the highest bidder, right? So you’re just like the hooker on Las Vegas Boulevard.

Paul Heyman Believes CM Punk Is A “S**ty” Best Friend

During his appearance on McAfee’s show, Paul Heyman claimed he didn’t betray Roman Reigns with his actions and he also took a shot at CM Punk as a friend.

Let’s be clear about this, I didn’t betray Roman Reigns. Did I put my hands on Roman Reigns and shove him down to the canvas in front of millions of people? I didn’t touch Roman Reigns. What did I do? I got shoved to the canvas. I got emasculated in front of the WWE Universe by my Tribal Chief. I pleaded with him.

My best friend did a favor. Saved Roman Reigns’ family. CM Punk, not much of a best friend, look at the position he put me in. What a compromising position CM Punk put me in against my own Tribal Chief. What kind of best friend was CM Punk? A lousy best friend. A s**tty best friend.

“I was loyal to CM Punk. I brought him back after Hell in a Cell. I gave him a spotlight. I gave him a chance to redeem himself with Roman Reigns. He puts me in this impossible, emotional, compromising position that was an absolute no win. Not only was it a no win, it was a must lose with my Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. That’s my best friend?”

Even though the Wise Man is a featured on-camera performer, Paul Heyman is also a big part of WWE’s creative process and enjoys his current role in the company.
