Paul Heyman Discusses Love For Brock Lesnar And Prospect Of Star’s WWE Return

Paul Heyman Brock Lesnar

Paul Heyman isn’t thinking about a comeback for Brock Lesnar.

From the moment he arrived on Monday Night Raw in 2002, Brock Lesnar has enjoyed a close friendship with Paul Heyman. The pair have regularly worked together on television and this brought them closer together off-screen.

However, in more recent years, Heyman has been closely associated with Roman Reigns and that looks set to continue.

Lesnar hasn’t been seen on WWE television since SummerSlam 2023 when he lost to Cody Rhodes, but that wasn’t originally the plan.

Shortly before the 2024 Royal Rumble, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE. The lawsuit contained allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking, and although he wasn’t named directly, Lesnar was also implicated. It was reported that the “former UFC Champion and WWE Superstar” named in the filing was Lesnar.

As a result, a return at the Rumble was scrapped, and all creative plans dropped.

Paul Heyman Staying Loyal To Brock Lesnar

During a new interview with CBS Sports’ Shakiel Mahjouri, Heyman was asked whether he’d spoken with Lesnar during his enforced hiatus.

“It’s funny, when people ask me about that, and it’s the same answer I would have given in 2002 or 2009 when he was the UFC Heavyweight Champion and people would see me in the background of his training camps or fights. When it comes to Brock Lesnar, Brock Lesnar doesn’t like to be discussed about anything about his life that is off-camera.

If I do speak to Brock Lesnar, he would want that to be private. If I don’t speak with Brock Lesnar, he would want that to be private. Number one, I would never want to violate his wish of privacy.

Number two, I would fear for a human being that would want to violate the feeling of privacy that would be desired by Brock Lesnar. Based on both love and appreciation for the man, and a healthy dose of absolute fear of the man, I will neither confirm nor deny my knowledge of even the existence of a species on this planet that carries the name Brock Lesnar,”

The Wiseman was then asked whether he thinks Lesnar will return to WWE, but he responded by saying it’s not something he’s thinking about.

“I don’t really put any thought into that at this time because it’s not a subject that is going to resolve itself by Survivor Series or by the end of the year, therefore it is not on the radar of things to address.”

The most recent report on the situation noted that WWE has no plans to bring Brock Lesnar back to the company, and he hasn’t been mentioned backstage in several months. There had been claims the two sides were in talks, but those rumours appear to be wide of the mark.

Meanwhile, Paul Heyman returned to WWE TV on the November 22nd episode of SmackDown alongside CM Punk. He will now lead Punk, Reigns, Sami Zayn, and The Usos into battle at Survivor Series.
