Did Paul Heyman Lie About The Rock’s WWE Situation?

The Rock and Paul Heyman split

The Rock’s WrestleMania 41 absence has been one of the most controversial topics in the pro wrestling industry for months now.

During an appearance on The Aerial Helwani show, Paul Heyman commented that there was an initial payoff planned for The Rock, Travis Scott, and John Cena’s storyline, but ultimately “fell apart,” leading WWE to move forward without it.

When asked about the reason, The Oracle noted he didn’t know and wasn’t even bothered to ask as he had so much on his plate already. He was too focused on his storyline involving Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk that he didn’t have a clue what happened, and Rock or his business partner, Brian Gewirtz, would be the better person to answer this question.

Vince Russo Says Paul Heyman Is Lying

Speaking on the Behind The Turnbuckle Studios podcast, Vince Russo claimed that Paul Heyman is lying, as there is no way that Triple H didn’t loop him in on the situation.

I swear to God, I’m sitting here, that answer could not be any more political than it was. And I hope those of you who watch this show I hope you’re really starting to identify and see the things that Coach and I talk about all the time. Because here’s the thing, guys. This guy’s talking about, ‘I don’t pay attention to gossip in the back.’ So, in other words, Triple H is not letting Paul Heyman know what is going on with The Rock situation on a daily basis. It’s gossip. It’s absolute BS, Coach. Absolute BS and you could tell.

Here was the first telling point. When Ariel asked the question, the first thing, if you guys notice, was Paul Heyman repeated the question because he needed time to think. So, he repeated the question to give him(self) a couple of seconds to think. That’s politics in the WWE. That was as political as it gets. If you don’t think Paul Heyman doesn’t know every single thing that’s going on in that company, you’re out of your mind. (35:47 – 36:56)
