Paul Heyman Alludes To CM Punk’s Infamous Rant At WrestleMania Press Conference

Paul Heyman Roman Reigns

Sunday night was a good night for Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns as The Tribal Chief ruined everyone else’s weekend by retaining his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes.

The main event of WrestleMania Sunday saw The Usos, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Solo Sikoa all get involved in the action with Sikoa proving pivotal for Reigns once again as hit Rhodes with a Samoan Spike, allowing Reigns to hit the Spear and pin The American Nightmare in what was to many a shock result.

At the post-show press conference, Heyman and Reigns were taking questions with The Tribal Chief batting many away but not reducing reporters to quivering children as he has done in the past. Nick Hausman of Haus of Wrestling asked about the news that WWE could be sold imminently to Endeavor and merged with UFC.

Reigns appeared to have nothing to say on the issue but a wry smile came across Heyman’s face as he warned his Tribal Chief that Hausman liked to cause problems at press conferences. It was Nick Hausman who asked the one question that set CM Punk off on his infamous rant following AEW All Out with Punk seemingly believing Hausman to be friends with his own former friend Colt Cabana, something that Hausman denied.

Roman Reigns seemed to miss the joke until asking Heyman if this was “to do with the improv” – Hausman was believed to have been part of the same improv comedy group as Cabana – as a smile crept across his own face.

Of course, Roman Reigns has plenty of reasons to smile, and he might have 1,000 of them if he keeps his championships until the King & Queen of the Ring event in Saudi Arabia as that will be the day his Universal Championship reign reaches 1,000 days.
