Pat McAfee To Make Acting Debut In New Netflix Film
Pat McAfee is taking on a new challenge.
It’s been announced that former NFL star, podcaster, presenter, and WWE commentator Pat McAfee will make his acting debut in ‘The Mosquito Bowl.’ McAfee will play a US Marine drill instructor.
The Netflix movie, headed up by Peter Berg, is an adaptation of the 2022 book ‘The Mosquito Bowl: A Game of Life and Death in World War II,’ by Buzz Bissinger. The book is based on the true story of four college football players who enlisted in the Marines following the Japanese Navy’s attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.
Filming is already underway in Queensland, Australia.
Pat McAfee Returning To WWE
Away from the launch of his movie career, Triple H has confirmed that Pat McAfee will be returning to WWE in September.
On September 20, WWE will kick off a new era in partnership with ESPN, with Wrestlepalooza. Not only will this mark the first time that WWE has used the famous ECW name, but it will also be the first Premium Live Event to be broadcast on ESPN in the United States.
The event is set to be held at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, so, naturally, the former Indianapolis star will be involved.
Pat McAfee has been absent from WWE since June, when he stepped away from Monday Night Raw. He later cited burnout as the reason for his departure. Given his numerous projects outside of wrestling, some have speculated that McAfee may never work with the company on a full-time basis again.
With McAfee taking a break, Corey Graves moved back to Monday Night Raw. The return was especially noteworthy as earlier in the year, Graves hit out at WWE on social media after being moved to NXT to help make way for McAfee on Raw.
