Pat McAfee surprises Michael Cole again

Pat McAfee has announced that his wife has given birth to a beautiful baby.

Former WWE Smackdown announcer Pat McAfee revealed on Twitter on Thursday that his wife Samantha gave birth to the couple’s first child, a baby girl.

Pat McAfee is a former NFL Punter that had a lot of success for the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts. Post NFL career, he has had a lot of success with his Pat McAfee Show on YouTube which has led to major deals including a FanDuel sponsorship and other opportunities that have come as a result of his show.

McAfee has had jobs working for WWE in a variety of roles and on ESPN’s College Game Day broadcasts last season.

For the past five years, Pat McAfee has been a part of the WWE Universe since he’s a lifelong fan of the pro wrestling business. It started in NXT in 2018 when he had a rivalry with former NXT Champion Adam Cole, which saw them have a singles match and eventually led to a WarGames match as well.

In April 2021, WWE decided to give McAfee an even bigger role in WWE as the color commentator on Smackdown sitting beside Michael Cole. That’s a role that he was in for about a year and a half.

The role on Smackdown led to McAfee having more matches including a WrestleMania 38 win over Austin Theory, which led to a loss against Vince McMahon that was not considered a great match. McAfee also picked up a win over Baron Corbin as well.

Earlier this year, McAfee joined the commentary team at the Royal Rumble in January. The funny thing about it is that everybody in WWE kept it quiet from Pat’s good friend and former commentary partner Michael Cole, who was genuinely shocked by McAfee’s appearance. It led to McAfee calling the entire Royal Rumble PLE with Cole and Corey Graves.

Pat McAfee also wrestled at WrestleMania 39 in April when he beat The Miz in an impromptu match where NFL star George Kittle assisted McAfee with a devastating clothesline on the floor.

It is unknown when McAfee will return to WWE in a regular role or if it will only be part-time, but he did recently say that his WWE dream “isn’t done” yet.
