WWE Hall Of Famer Enjoys Watching “Controversial” Orange Cassidy

The style of Orange Cassidy may not be something every pro wrestling fan enjoys, but one WWE Hall of Famer really likes him.

In the main event of AEW’s All Out pay-per-view from Chicago last Sunday night, Orange Cassidy defended the International Championship against three-time AEW World Champion Jon Moxley.

For Moxley, being in a PPV main event was nothing new since he has done it many times in AEW and also in WWE when he was known as Dean Ambrose.

Orange Cassidy being in the main event was a new experience for the guy who loves to put his hands in his pockets during a match and who likes to say that he “doesn’t have a catchphrase.”

They would go on to have a violent, bloody brawl with Cassidy bleeding heavily from the forehead while Moxley surprisingly didn’t bleed at all. It took a lot to put Cassidy away, but Moxley got the win after hitting the Death Rider for a second time.

That victory by Moxley put an end to Cassidy’s International Title reign that lasted nearly ten months, which is almost as impressive as the fact that Orange had over 30 successful title defenses as the International Champion.

Eric Bischoff Praises Orange Cassidy

When it comes to Orange Cassidy, there are a lot of people with differing opinions on him. Some people don’t like his unique styles while others, especially the AEW fans, absolutely love it.

On a recent episode of his 83 Weeks podcast, WWE Hall of Famer and former WCW President Eric Bischoff spoke about how he’s learned to enjoy Orange Cassidy performances.

“I enjoy his work. I really do. I know he was controversial coming in. I think it was one of you know, Tony Khan was the one that you know, really was so high on them in the very beginning and gave him the opportunity. I think it was a good call. He’s a completely different character, right? I mean everything he does is so unique. But guess what? He’s not better than he’s not less than he’s different than.”

“And by being different than everybody else and being true to his character and being so unique compared to everybody else. He’s now standing out so, you know, obviously, I’ve never worked with him but in terms of what I’ve seen him do and the way he carries himself, I think very highly of him.”

At the start of this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Orange Cassidy did a rare in-ring promo. Orange thanked the fans and claimed that “they” told him to stay home. Orange said whether he has a championship or not, he will be there every week because he is “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy and “I do not have a catchphrase.” As for what’s next, tune in next week because he says he’ll be there.
