Orange Cassidy Wants To Pay It Forward In AEW

Orange Cassidy

Orange Cassidy has praised AEW’s young stars for their willingness to learn.

2024 hasn’t been planning sailing for AEW, but one of the company’s stalwarts is certain things are heading in the right direction.

Orange Cassidy has been All Elite since the promotion launched in 2019, and he’s continued to be one of its most popular stars. By his own admission, Cassidy has never wanted to be “the guy” or a locker room leader, but he’s encouraged by the attitude of those around him.

Speaking in an interview with The Shaky Experience podcast ahead of Worlds End, Cassidy opened up about the healthy competition inside the AEW locker room and how everyone is working to make AEW as special as can be.

“Right now, the locker room, to me, we all want to do our very best. At AEW, we’re trying to cultivate an idea that we should help each other do our best. It is competitive, but I feel it’s a healthy competition.

When I see Will Ospreay have a match with Ricochet, when I see my friend Mark Briscoe go wrestle Kyle Fletcher, and they do incredible things, it helps drive me to do my best as well. It shouldn’t be a, ‘I want to get to the top so I’m going to step on you to get there.’ It should be, ‘I want to go to the top, but we should all help each other climb the ladder to get to the top.’

It can be daunting sometimes. You can see a match between Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay or Ospreay and (Konosuke) Takeshita, and they are doing superhuman things. They can do things no one else can do. That’s what makes AEW so special. Everybody brings something unique to them.

I try to accentuate that aspect. What separates me from them is the healthy competition of, I want to have the best performance of the night or best match. I feel it’s a positive place right now. We have a ton of young talent, too, that are very fortunate in AEW.

It’s the environment we’re trying to make backstage, but the younger roster members are so attentive and they try their best. They take feedback and they want to do their best. What is that thing, pay it forward? That’s what we’re trying to do,”

Orange Cassidy In Action At AEW Fight For The Fallen

On January 1st, AEW Dynamite Fight For The Fallen will come live from Asheville, North Carolina. The show is set to be headlined by the in-ring return of Adam Copeland as he teams with FTR to take on Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta. But several other big names will also be in action.

On the show, Orange Cassidy will face Hangman Adam Page one-on-one for the first time ever.

Meanwhile, Julia Hart will take on Jamie Hayter in her first match since losing the TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale at Dynasty back in April. In the days leading up to the match, Hart suffered a shoulder injury that required surgery.

In the only other match announced for the taping, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin team up to face The Acclaimed.
