Orange Cassidy Has Unique Goal In Mind Regarding AEW Fans
Orange Cassidy has a specific idea for what he wants to see from AEW fans who support him.
As the longest reigning and two-time AEW International Champion, Orange Cassidy has shed the label of being a “lazy” wrestler and is instead known for being one of the company’s greatest fighting champions.
During his first reign as the AEW International Champion, Orange Cassidy had over 30 successful title defenses and often had matches where he was dealing with injuries that would have kept other wrestlers on the sidelines instead of in the ring.
While talking to Phil Strum of Under The Ring, Orange Cassidy spoke about fans who emulate his look while also wanting more fans to wear sunglasses just like him.
“Having little kids dress up as you — I know it’s easy. You put some jeans on, you get a jacket, some sunglasses and shirt. That’s great. Whatever the internet says, I look out into the crowd and see what’s going on. It’s the goal, and I just want to keep raising the goal and the bar. I want everybody to wear sunglasses in the arena at one point.”
Orange Cassidy Will Face Jon Moxley At AEW Full Gear In A Huge Rematch
During the interview, Orange Cassidy also spoke about his theme “Jane” by Jefferson Starship after previously using “Where Is My Mind?” by Pixies in the past.
“Way before AEW, it was the song of choice for me because I saw a movie called White Hot American Summer and I loved it. It opened up the movie and it was just awesome, I never heard it before. I was like, ‘I’ve gotta walk out to that.’ And then it was the way it was and I had it for years and years and obviously couldn’t get the rights, so that’s why The Pixies came in, which is also a phenomenal song.”
“But then Jefferson Starship came back and said, ‘Yeah, we’ll do it,’ because they saw the publicity and stuff it was getting. Yeah, it’s kind of crazy every now and then when I’m about to walk out and I hear it because it’s just part of my routine now. It’s nice.”
Next up for Orange Cassidy is a rematch against Jon Moxley at AEW Full Gear. It’s a rematch from when they main evented AEW All Out when Moxley took the International Title from Cassidy. In this rematch, Cassidy will try to prove he’s the better man.
