Orange Cassidy One Step Closer To AEW Gold

Orange Cassidy

A new tournament kicked off on AEW Dynamite to find a number one contender for Kenny Omega’s title and Orange Cassidy is on the hunt for gold.

Revolution saw Kenny Omega dethrone Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW International Championship as he finally got the best of The Don Callis Family’s crown jewel.

But eight men have Omega in their sights with an AEW International Title match announced for Dynasty on April 6 in Philadelphia. A tournament began on the March 12 edition of Dynamite with four single matches taking place between that show and the following Collision.

The four winners will then clash in a four-way match on the March 19 edition of Dynamite with the winner of that bout then getting the title shot against Kenny Omega.

Orange Cassidy Moves Closer To AEW Gold

The tournament kicked off with Orange Cassidy defeating Hechicero as he tries to capture the AEW International Title for the third time in his career. A wildcard entry was announced as facing The Beast Mortos and that surprise entrant turned out to be ex-TNA star Speedball Mike Bailey who made his AEW debut. Bailey also picked up the win booking his place in the four-way bout.

Orange Cassidy and Mike Bailey will have to wait until Collision to find out their opponents with Ricochet taking on Katsuyori Shibata and Mark Briscoe facing Mark Davis.
