Orange Cassidy Claims Huge AEW Title Shot
Kenny Omega wants AEW gold but now Orange Cassidy has jumped the line and claimed a huge championship match.
AEW Grand Slam Australia kicked off in fine style with the dream team of Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay defeating Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher of the Don Callis Family. After a wild 20-minute bout, the end came with Ospreay hitting a Hidden Blade from the top rope as Omega delivered a One Winged Angel on Takeshita.
Kenny Omega then issued a challenge to Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW International Championship at Revolution while Will Ospreay wanted Kyle Fletcher in a cage match on pay-per-view. But Omega’s path to the title has proven to be a little more complicated.
Orange Cassidy To Challenge For AEW Title
A new International Championship Series was set to take place on the February 19 edition of Dynamite with former champions Orange Cassidy facing Roderick Strong with the winner getting a title shot against Takeshita. The winner of that match will then go to Revolution to defend the title against Kenny Omega.
Konosuke Takeshita now knows who he’ll be facing when Dynamite heads to Oceanside, California. Orange Cassidy picked up the victory over Roderick Strong meaning he’ll now get the chance to become a three-time AEW International Champion.
