Only One Shocking Way To Save CM Punk After Alleged Burying

CM Punk WWE

Former WWE creative writer Vince Russo highlighted that CM Punk not getting up for 10+ minutes after being put through a table buried him.

On the June 20 episode of SmackDown, John Cena faced R-Truth in the main event. However, the match lasted only a few minutes as the champion was disqualified for hitting Truth with the belt.

Punk made his way to the ring, but his plans went awry.

Cena attacked him with the belt as well, twice, and then put him through a table with an Attitude Adjustment.

He then cut a scathing promo, his own version of a pipebomb, directed at CM Punk.

Both ring veterans are set to face each other for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Night of Champions in Riyadh on June 28.

CM Punk Should Turn Heel At NOC

Russo appeared on Behind the Turnbuckle Studios’ Coach and Bro podcast with Jonathan Coachman.

He called Cena’s attack on Punk a burial and said the only way to bring the latter back to glory is by turning him heel.

I’m saying if I was writing this, there is no way I could have allowed a talent like that (Punk) to literally be buried and I have to tell you, Coach, there is only one way out of this.

I think a lot of damage was done. We heard the response for Cena when this was all said and done. I think the only way out of this is I think CM Punk’s gotta turn heel during that match. [10:34 onwards]

Since his return at Survivor Series in 2023, CM Punk has primarily been featured as a babyface.
