The One Condition Triple H Had For Taking Over WWE

Triple H WWE Champion

Triple H has opened up about taking control of WWE.

Following the completion of the merger between WWE and UFC, Vince McMahon’s influence over WWE creative began to decrease. This meant that the man charged with making the decisions over week-to-week programming was allowed to do just that.

The man in question is Triple H, and WWE’s on-screen product has changed dramatically in recent months — especially after McMahon removed himself from the TKO Group Board of Directors after being accused of sexual assault and sex trafficking.

Speaking at the post-WrestleMania XL press conference, Triple discussed taking control of creative and a conversation with CEO Chairman Ari Emanuel.

“I’m loving what I do, that’s the biggest thing for me. When TKO went down and Ari Emanuel talked to me about this, I said, ‘I just want to have fun. If it’s fun, I stay. If It’s not, we’ll figure out something us.’ We’re having fun. I want everyone to have fun.

When the signature was playing, I picked up the headset and said, ‘Biggest thing we want to remember tonight, everybody, have fun. Enjoy this.’ If this is fun, everybody loves it. If we have fun making it, you’re going to enjoy watching it. That’s what I believe,”

WWE Determined To Push Focus Onto ‘Triple H Era’

During WrestleMania weekend, several WWE talents and even the man himself were at pains to hammer home that WWE is entering a new era. While The Game suggested it was a team effort and not all about him, others have dubbed WWE’s bold new dawn the ‘Paul Levesque era.’

After Triple H opened Raw, Dave Meltzer noted that the move was an effort to distance the company from Vince McMahon.
