Oba Femi’s latest social media post may have confirmed his future WWE status.

Since his NXT Championship loss to Ricky Saints at No Mercy in September 2025, reports have circulated that The Ruler may be main roster-bound.

However, to everyone’s surprise, he returned on the developmental brand during the November 11 taping and confronted Saints.

The two squared off at Deadline, where Femi defeated The Absolute One to retain his championship. As a result, he earned the right to face Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII on December 13.

But before, he successfully defended his title against Je’Von Evans on the December 9 episode of NXT.

At SNME, he put on a dominant show, shocking the Undisputed WWE Champion and staking his claim for the main roster status.

Subsequent reports stated that the company’s higher-ups were impressed with Oba Femi’s performance. Although an exact date or even how he would exit NXT was the main question on everyone’s mind.

His shocking move on the January 6 episode at New Year’s Evil confirmed just that.

Oba Femi’s Social Media Post Confirms NXT Exit

At New Year’s Evil, Oba Femi defended his gold against TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater.

As expected, the 27-year-old dominated the match while Slater was able to push back sporadically. In the closing minutes, Femi hit his sit-down powerbomb finisher to retain his championship.

After the match, he posed with the belt for the audience and viewers at home.

Backstage, general manager Ava spoke to the talent on the brand about the recent departures when Mr. Stone barged in.

He asked Ava if she had seen what Oba Femi did. She replied, “No.”

The cameras showed the ring, where the NXT Championship was placed in the middle of the ring, with Femi nowhere to be seen. Speculations gained traction about him relinquishing the title.

The Ruler took to X to share a post, confirming his exit from NXT. He captioned it, “FIN 🪶.”
