Oba Femi Not Surprised By Huge Reaction To Cody Rhodes WWE Match

Oba Femi WWE NXT Champion

Oba Femi faced Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.

The NXT Champion and WWE Undisputed Champion faced each other in a non-title champion vs champion match, which ended in a no-contest.

Drew McIntyre showed up at the Capital One Arena in Washington and attacked Rhodes, causing the match to end in disqualification.

The match marked Oba’s main roster debut bout, and he received a huge pop during his entrance at the show.

Oba Femi Says He Has Earned His Place In WWE

Speaking on the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Recap, Oba Femi addressed his match with Cody Rhodes and stated that the fan reaction did not surprise him.

He was expecting the crowd to cheer for him Saturday night. He was confident that he had worked hard all these years, so he deserved the huge platform to showcase his talent.

It just goes to show how much work I’ve put into this. I’m undeniable at this point.

My body of work in NXT spoke for itself, and tonight the match paid dividends, the crowd reacted to me like I’ve been here for decades, like I’ve been here for a very long time.

It didn’t feel like I didn’t belong, it didn’t feel like I was out of place, the work speaks for itself. I knew they were going to (chant to his entrance theme). I came out on Friday Night SmackDown yesterday, and they responded.

I had the Oba Feminists in the crowd chanting my name, doing the ‘hoo’, so no surprise there. No surprise that Cody comes out first, you have to make the people wait for what they really want to see.

The Ruler is what they came to see; they’ve seen Cody Rhodes a thousand times, this is special.

Speaking in the same interview, Oba Femi also expressed his frustration with Drew McIntyre for robbing his moment at SNME. He warned The Scottish Warrior that his actions might have undesired repercussions.
