Nyla Rose Defends Nia Jax Following Backlash To Match On RAW

Nia Jax & Charlotte Flair

Nyla Rose has taken to social media to defend Nia Jax in the face of fan criticism following her match with Charlotte Flair on the August 30th episode of Monday Night RAW.

Nia Jax was in dominant form on the most recent episode of the red brand, making her presence felt early on. She stood ringside while Shayna Baszler took on Rhea Ripley, before taking out a watching Nikki A.S.H and then Ripley herself after the match.

Later on the in the night, Jax met new RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Fair in singles action. While the pair have wrestled numerous times before, and even teamed together, the match didn’t exactly go smoothly.

At one point during the match Nia Jax picked Flair up for a belly-to-back suplex and dropped The Queen high on her back, shoulders, and neck onto the canvas. Many fans have wondered if there was a hint of reality when the two women began trading slaps before continuing with the match. Flair also delivered a nasty-looking chop block to Jax’s knee in an attempt to set her up for the Figure 8 submission.

The match came to an end with Jax delivering a vicious powerbomb to Flair to pick up the win.

The match and the spot where Jax appeared to drop Flair drew significant criticism online. Responding to a post on Twitter about the bump, AEW star Nyla Rose came to Jax’ defence.

The former AEW Women’s Champion said that it was a regular bump before adding “Just admit ya’ll hate Thicc girls and move on”

After the show a report appeared to confirm fans’ suspicions that the match had descended into a “legitimate confrontation.” The report noted that ‘real’ punches and slaps were thrown, although the finish went ahead as planned.

In the immediate aftermath, social media ran wild with speculation about the incident with both fans and WWE Hall of Famer’s wondering what had happened.

Posting on Twitter, Mick Foley simply asked “WTF was up with that match?”
