NXT Talent Deemed “Too Good” Not To Be Used On WWE Main Roster
There’s been a groundswell of support within WWE for one particular star.
Corey Graves kicked off 2025 by publicly calling out WWE after he was switched from the main roster to NXT to make way for the return of Pat McAfee to Monday Night Raw.
Following the outburst, he missed an NXT taping, and there was a great deal of speculation that he could leave WWE altogether. However, he quickly returned to NXT and opened the show by telling fans that he’s exactly where he needs to be.
Since that rocky patch, Corey Graves has earned plenty of praise backstage for his performance at Worlds Collide, and more recently, he’s filled in for the absent McAfee on Raw.
Corey Graves Gaining Support Within WWE
According to a new report on Wrestle Votes Radio, there’s a growing belief within WWE that Graves is simply too good not to be a regular on the main roster. Although it’s accepted that McAfee brings value to the company, many feel Graves should also be present on the main roster.
“According to several within the WWE, there is a strong contingency to get Corey Graves on main roster television weekly regardless of who is or is not available. We can’t confirm as of this moment if WWE has any interest in bringing back the old three-man booths for TV or not.”
Corey Graves officially signed with WWE in 2011 as an in-ring talent before moving to the announce booth in 2014 after suffering a series of concussions. By mid-2016, Graves was moved onto the main roster, and he’s bounced between Raw, SmackDown, and NXT ever since.
At present, Michael Cole and Pat McAfee call the action on Raw, while Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett do the honours on SmackDown.
