NXT Star Wants To Dance With World Heavyweight Champion Gunther

Gunther WWE World Heavyweight Champion

The stars are queuing up for Gunther.

Although he’s yet to make his debut on the main roster, Oba Femi is already seen as a major NXT success story.

The former track and field college star only signed with WWE in late 2021 and didn’t make his in-ring debut until November 2022. Despite his inexperience, the star has become a main player in NXT delivering a series of eye-catching performances opposite the likes of Dragon Lee, Dijak, Wes Lee, and more.

At New Year’s Evil, Oba Femi’s career hit a new high when he captured the NXT Championship, and it seems only a matter of time until he’s dominating on the main roster.

During an interview on The Masked Man Show, the star reflected on his rise to date and looked ahead to a potential clash with one of WWE’s biggest stars, Gunther.

“I love his style and I love his mentality towards what we do. He doesn’t see it as entertainment and professional wrestling, he sees it as a sport, and I respect that. Never traded words with Gunther. Hopefully, one day, I will.

Would love to pick his brain and see what he has to tell me because he is good at what he does. We just happen to work that same grounded style and we mix effectively with other styles. I’m happy with the work he’s doing right now. He’s killing it. Hopefully, one day, we’ll get to dance,”

Oba Femi is set to put the NXT Championship on the line against Eddy Thorpe on the January 21st edition of NXT.

Gunther To Defend World Heavyweight Title

At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Gunther put the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Jey Uso. On the January 13th edition of Raw the champion said he was going to expose Uso as nothing more than a very good tag team wrestler.

The dominant Austrian has held the gold since beating Damian Priest at SummerSlam.
