NXT Star Walks Out On Match To Give TNA Huge Win
NXT Showdown left the home team asking serious questions after their team was abandoned, handing TNA a major win.
When TNA stars expressed publicly how unhappy they were with WWE, an in-ring battle was inevitable. Following an invasion from TNA on NXT, a Showdown was made, pitting the two promotions against each other.
Two Survivor Series-style tag team matches were made with the men and women of TNA and NXT doing battle. Although the way the two teams were decided left many fans scratching their heads.
The female Team TNA was captained by TNA Knockouts Champion Kelani Jordan. That was despite Jordan being a WWE-contracted star. Jordan was joined by The IInspiration and Mara Sade to take on NXT’s quartet of Jacy Jayne, Lola Vice, Sol Ruca, and Jaida Parker.
Jordan’s role on the TNA team was even more confusing when TNA World Champion Trick Williams – another WWE-contracted star – named himself as co-captain for the men’s NXT team alongside Ricky Saints. Those strange bedfellows were joined by Je’Von Evans and Myles Borne to battle Mike Santana, Frankie Kazarian, Moose, and Leon Slater.
Trick Williams Abandons NXT
In the men’s match at NXT Showdown, Evans and Borne found themselves eliminated, leaving just Williams and Saints to carry on the fight for NXT. Things got even harder for Saints when Williams walked out on him, leaving Saints to battle the entire TNA squad himself.

Saints did manage to eliminate Kazarian and Slater, but the numbers caught up to him with Moose and Mike Santana surviving. Santana won the match with a huge discus clothesline ahead of challenging Trick Williams for the TNA World Title at Bound For Glory.
