NXT Star Lifts Lid On Receiving Advice From CM Punk

CM Punk

CM Punk is always on hand for NXT.

For the last 12 months, several main roster stars have been making appearances in NXT and working with WWE’s next generation backstage. This exchange has seen the likes of John Cena, The Undertaker, Rhea Ripley, Becky Lynch and more recently Randy Orton appear on the show.

However, no one has made more of a commitment to help the NXT roster than CM Punk.

The former AEW man has been a regular presence at the Performance Center since returning to the company, both on-screen and backstage. There have even been suggestions that CM Punk could take over running the brand from Shawn Michaels when he finally ends his career.

Tony D’Angelo Reflects On Advice From CM Punk

During an interview with MuscleMan Malcolm, Tony D’Angelo was asked about the advice he’s received from some of WWE’s biggest names. The North American Champion reflected on Cena talking to the whole roster, while Punk warned him of the dangers of social media, noting that he’s “always available.”

“Cena came in and talked to the whole roster and gave us good advice. CM Punk, he’s always around when he’s available. He’s watching film and telling us what to do, what not to do. He told me, ‘Don’t let social media…don’t look at it.’ When you’re in the spotlight, you have a lot of people saying a bunch of crap in the comments and DMing you and whatever. It hasn’t gotten to me yet, I kind of find it funny to see people hate on others for no reason.

I’m sure at some point in my career, I’ll get annoyed. I think that’s the biggest thing, a lot of people should take that advice because social media is a bunch of people that you’re probably never going to meet, just judging you and saying a bunch of stuff that doesn’t mean nothing.

Also, they’re not paying the bills. Is the boss happy, or is wrestlingfan213 happy? The boss is more important. That’s my opinion,”

CM Punk is currently taking a break from WWE after beating Drew McIntyre inside Hell in a Cell. It’s believed Punk will return shortly after Crown Jewel on November 2nd to begin his next storyline.
