NXT Star Touted For Future WrestleMania Main Event

NXT has long been a hotbed of future WWE Superstars and it seems one man making waves on the brand could be headed for the very top.

Carmelo Hayes seems to be on the verge of a call-up to the WWE main roster while Bron Breakker has said his future is on the WWE main roster following his impressive display in the Royal Rumble. But could one NXT star be destined for even greater things?

Hayes was in action on the 26th of January edition of SmackDown when he took on Austin Theory. Theory picked up a dubious win and after the match, Theory and Grayson Waller laid down a beating on Hayes until Trick Williams made the save. Williams received a huge ovation from the crowd and it seems those behind the scenes took notice.

WWE See Big Things For NXT’s Trick Williams

Haus of Wrestling has reported that a WWE source had noted the creative team on the blue brand had been blown away by the reaction to Williams. It was also said that influential people in the company currently believe that Williams has “future WrestleMania main eventer potential.”

One WWE star is quoted as saying Williams has a “great attitude and skill set that he’s cultivating” as well as noting that they see “nothing but positives for him.”

Trick Williams has the biggest night of his career ahead of him at Vengeance Day on February 4th. Williams will team with Hayes in the final of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic against Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin before he then challenges Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship in the main event.
