NXT Star Could Debut On SmackDown In The “Near Future”

Tony D'Angelo and Ethan Page in NXT with WWE logo blur

A top NXT star might not be with the brand for much longer.

Back in July, Ethan Page introduced a special version of the North American Championship belt, featuring the Canadian flag.

This embrace of his home country saw fellow proud Canadian Chelsea Green return to WWE’s third brand to support Page and help broker a United States/Canada peace deal with Tyra Mae Steele and Tavion Heights. Steele famously won an Olympic gold medal for the United States, while Heights also competed at the Olympic Games.

That interaction set up a mixed tag team match at NXT Heatwave, which Page and Green won.

The new partnership has proven a big hit with fans online, and it seems WWE management has also sat up and taken notice.

As reported by Wrestle Votes, the new partnership between Page and Green has proven to be so successful that people within the company want the pair working together on SmackDown. Some believe the union would help establish Page as a “key player” on the blue brand.

Hearing several within WWE would like to see the current pairing of Chelsea Green & NXT North American Champion Ethan Page appear on SmackDown in the near future, as their chemistry on NXT TV has impressed many.

Additionally, some believe this newly minted Canadian faction would quickly establish Page as a key player.

Another NXT Star On Verge Of Main Roster Call Up

The news comes after it was reported that main roster figures are pushing for Sol Ruca to be moved up from NXT.

According to that report, people with influence on Raw and SmackDown “think the world” of Ruca’s potential and want her called up as soon as possible. There are obviously people within NXT who would love to keep her on the brand, but they’ve become aware they’re fighting a losing battle.

Sol Ruca is the current Women’s North American Champion and current Women’s Speed Champion.
