NXT Schedules High-Stake Number One Contender’s Match For Next Week

WWE Oba Femi NXT Champion

Ever since its introduction, NXT Deadline has been the final PLE of the year for the black and silver brand. The show features the Iron Survivor Challenge, the winners of which go on to headline the first PLE of the next year, New Year’s Evil.

This year, Je’Von Evans emerged as the Men’s Iron Survivor and earned a shot at the NXT Championship for the new year. However, the Young OG didn’t want to wait till January and challenged Oba Femi for a match on tonight’s episode itself.

With Evans using his title shot on tonight’s show, the NXT General Manager, Ava, needed a challenger for New Year’s Evil. She came up with an exciting, high-stakes number one contender’s match and announced it for next week.

Fatal-four-way match announced for NXT next week

While Evans lost his championship match tonight following interference from Ricky Saints, his fellow competitors, in the Iron Survivor Challenge will get another chance to headline New Year’s Evil.

This year at NXT Deadline, all five men in the Iron Survivor Challenge were tied till the very end when Evans snatched the win away. Keeping that in mind, Ava announced a fatal-four-way for next week between the four remaining men from the Iron Survivor challenge.

Myles Borne, Dion Lennox, Joe Hendry, and Leon Slater will compete against each other once again, and one of them will go on to challenge Oba Femi next year.
