NXT Couple Indi Hartwell And Dexter Lumis Are Now Engaged

Dexter Lumis and Indi Hartwell are engaged! IN-DEX is happening!

After the pair were denied for so long, NXT’s newest couple have moved quickly to cement their relationship. The odd couple was initially kept apart by Hartwell’s on-screen ‘parents’ in The Way, Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae.

Despite this, the unique duo wasn’t about to be discouraged. On the August 3rd episode of NXT, Gargano defeated Lumis in a ‘Love Her or Leave Her Match’ which meant he and Hartwell were no longer allowed to be together, but Indi went back into the ring and kissed Lumis. That meant there was no way for Johnny and Candice to stop the happy couple from being together.

The following week, the two went on their first date which ended with Gargano hitting Lumis in the face with a cake.

On the August 17th episode of the show, the new couple teamed together to take on Robert Stone and Jessi Kamea. After emerging victorious, Hartwell had one more surprise up her sleeve. Sliding outside of the ring to retrieve something from Beth Phoenix in the commentary booth.

After some words of encouragement, Hartwell returned to the ring and got down on bended knee. Lumis nodded his approval to roars from the crowd, delight from Phoenix and sheer incredulous amazement from co-commentator Wade Barrett. It should lead to NXT’s first on-screen wedding soon.

Elsewhere on the show, MSK retained their NXT Tag Team Titles after defeating Imperium. The match was marred by chaos after the bell as WALTER and NXT TakeOver: 36 opponent Ilja Dragunov got into a brawl.

Dragunov was also busted open in beating Roderick Strong after answering the latter’s open challenge.
