No Indication AEW Is Adding New Show
There’s no indication that AEW is set to add another show after one of its weekly titles came crashing to a halt at the end of 2024.
Jon Moxley captured the AEW World Championship at WrestleDream as he brought the full-time career of Bryan Danielson to an end. Since then Moxley, backed by his Death Riders Marina Shafir, Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, and Wheeler Yuta has been on a path of destruction as he seeks to rebuild AEW from the ground up in his own image.
Things went a step further on Rampage New Year’s Smash, Jon Moxley stormed the production truck, vowing to put an end to the chaos in AEW at Worlds End before demanding the end of Rampage as he forced the director to cut the show as it abruptly went to a black screen.
But could AEW Rampage ever return?
No Interest In AEW Show
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer indicated that while Rampage could be resurrected in the future there is no interest in the show just now:
There’s no indication anywhere of anything being picked up. There are ways you would know but there’s no indication of anything anywhere of that Friday night show being picked up or them adding a show. There are talks always but how serious they are, I don’t know.
After AEW signed a new multi-year TV deal with Warner Brothers Discovery it became clear that Rampage was coming to an end in 2024. The 27th of December edition of the Friday night show was the final episode of its run that began in 2021.
