No Heat On Drew McIntyre Following Explosive Social Media Post
Drew McIntyre got fans talking with his latest social media post.
Drew McIntyre and CM Punk taking jabs at each other online is nothing new, but on July 25th, the Scottish star decided to take things to a new level.
Across his social media, McIntyre shared a photo of himself with AEW star Jack Perry with the caption, “It’s a real photo, cry us a river.” The comments are of course a reference to Perry telling Punk to “cry him a river” into a TV camera on the AEW All In 2023 pre-show after using real glass in his match with Hook.
The subsequent backstage altercation resulted in Punk being fired, and Perry getting suspended.
Drew McIntyre Working Closely With CM Punk
As reported by WRKD Wrestling, although McIntyre deleted the post, there’s “zero concern” about any backstage issues. The pair are said to be working closely on their storyline with all references to AEW or backstage problems cleared by Punk in advance.
While Drew McIntyre deleted his photo with Jack Perry, there is zero concern of any backstage heat. McIntyre and CM Punk are working closely to craft their feud and all references to past AEW or backstage issues have been given the green light by Punk ahead of time.
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre are set to meet at SummerSlam, with Seth Rollins serving as the special guest referee.
