NJPW Star Thinks Tony Khan Is An Idiot, Criticizes AEW Shows
A top wrestler in NJPW doesn’t think fondly about Tony Khan or his company AEW.
Kenny Omega is a former AEW World Champion who has missed over a year of in-ring action due to a serious battle with diverticulitis. At NJPW Wrestle Dynasty on January 5th, 2025, Omega will return to the ring to face NJPW’s Gabe Kidd.
If you follow NJPW closely then you are likely aware of Kidd, who is known for running his mouth and doing his best to back it up in the ring.
As a way to promote his match with Omega, Kidd is now taking shots at AEW’s Owner and booker Tony Khan, who works closely with NJPW.
In an interview with NJPW’s YouTube channel, Gabe Kidd shot down the idea of signing with AEW while also taking shots at the way Tony Khan runs AEW.
“I don’t give a s**t if AEW wants to sign me. What, so I can go and turn up to TV, be Tony’s new toy? Go on Dynamite, have a couple of matches and then sit and catering for 23 weeks doing f**k all, flying to Toledo, Ohio, to do what? A show in front of a crowd that have seen five hours of wrestling already? I have no interest in that whatsoever.
Wrestling to me, I’m a professional, but wrestling means more to me than these guys, and I think it’s about time that someone with New Japan stepped up and has some f**king balls. We are getting our pants pulled down and dogged by the rest of the wrestling world because of being professional. So maybe it is time to be a little bit unprofessional.
Gabe Kidd Believes Tony Khan Is A “F**king Idiot”
As Gabe Kidd continued, he took some personal shots at AEW’s Tony Khan as well.
Maybe it is time to talk a bit of s**t, and if they have anything to say about it, can come and chat to me.
I have no problem pulling Tony Khan into our office and telling him what’s what. I have no problem reading him his rights and telling him what a f**king idiot he is. So that’s that.”
It’s possible that Gabe Kidd is also talking this way as part of a storyline for his match with Kenny Omega, who will likely be cheered heavily at Wrestle Dynasty.
Tony Khan has said recently that AEW has the greatest roster ever in pro wrestling, which some people may not agree with, but Khan obviously likes the roster he has right now.
