There was a surprise appearance on AEW Collision.

Ahead of the May 25th episode of Collision, it was announced Daniel Garcia would team with Claudio Castagnoli and a mystery partner to take on Lance Archer and The Righteous.

Come showtime it was teased Garcia and Castagnoli would face the trio alone before the announcers said the Forbidden Door had been opened early, and out came Hiroshi Tanahashi. In the end, it was the NJPW legend who grabbed the win, pinning Vincent with a High Fly Flow.

In a post on social media, Tony Khan thanked Tanahashi for making the trip to Las Vegas and gifting him a Jushin Thunder Liger jacket.

Thank you Mr President @tanahashi1_100 for this amazing @Liger_NJPW jacket + thank you for flying to Vegas #AEWDoN weekend on behalf of @njpw1972 to stand up for @AEW vs the hired guns of The Elite on Saturday #AEWCollision on TBS TONIGHT! Thank you all watching AEW on TBS now!

AEW Announces Collision Residency

It was recently announced that five episodes of AEW Collision will be taped at the Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas, starting July 20th.

The “Path To All In” will also see Ring of Honor Death Before Dishonor held at the venue on July 26th.

Meanwhile, it’s been confirmed that All Out has moved from its traditional spot on Labor Day weekend. The show will now take place two weeks after All In on September 7th. Tony Khan said he’d decided to make the switch due to fan feedback, and a desire to have more space between the Wembley Stadium spectacular and All Out.

The event was also moved from Sunday to Saturday to avoid the first NFL season of the season.
