The forbidden door is open and now it’s heading to Japan as NJPW announces a whole new show involving AEW and a lot more.

For three years now, AEW and NJPW have worked together on the cross-promoted Forbidden Door show as stars from both companies clash with titles and bragging rights on the line. At 2024’s Forbidden Door, Stardom and CMLL were also included for the first time ever with some of their stars sharing the stage as well.

Forbidden Door in New York saw Swerve Strickland hand Will Ospreay his first defeat as a full-time member of the AEW roster to retain the AEW World Championship while Jon Moxley lost the IWGP World Heavyweight Title to NJPW stalwart Tetsuya Naito.

Mercedes Mone left New York as a double champion as she defeated Stephanie Vaquer to retain the TBS Title and win Vaquer’s NJPW Strong Women’s Championship.

Now it seems AEW and NJPW’s relationship is growing stronger as an all-new show was revealed during Forbidden Door.

NJPW Present Wrestle Dynasty In 2025

During the show, a promo aired as NJPW announced Wrestle Dynasty would take place on January 5th 2025, one day after their traditional Wrestle Kingdom Tokyo Dome show. This show will also be held in the iconic venue and the promo featured stars such as Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, and Kazuchika Okada while also showing the NJPW, AEW, Ring of Honor, CMLL, and Stardom company logos.
