Nikki Bella Says Top WWE Star Reminds Her Of John Cena

Nikki Bella compared Bayley to John Cena.

Bella and Cena used to be a couple. Their relationship began in 2012, blossoming on screen and off during their time together in WWE.

They became a beloved wrestling couple, frequently featured in storylines and reality television.

Cena even proposed to Nikki at WrestleMania 33 in 2017, but they called off their engagement in 2018, citing personal differences.

Speaking to Bayley on the Nikki & Brie Show, the WWE Hall of Famer said Bayley reminds her of John Cena very much.

Both stars have a strong presence around them, which others miss when they’re not around.

Last Monday, media was like Where’s Bayley? Where’s Pam? Like, you almost remind me of John.

I remember, back in the day, even before John and I were together, but when John would go off and film The Marine or if there was a movie, everyone would say like, “Wow, you miss his presence.’

It’s like John has such a strong presence when he walks down the hall, when he’s by the ring, when he’s watching everyone’s matches.

So, you would miss his presence when he’s gone; it would be recognizable. You’d be like, “Wait, where is he?” But you’re the same way.”

After John Cena And AJ Styles, Bayley Hints At Retirement

In the same podcast interview, Bayley hinted at her retirement.

While talking to Nikki Bella about her current on-screen split personality character, she insinuated that she’ll not wrestle forever and will eventually hang up her boots someday.

This might be a sign that Bayley is already preparing to retire from the ring.

“It’s a weird time in wrestling, too, where you can’t really tell what the fans want right now, if they want more of the realism, like this is this person, and they’re a professional wrestler, and they’re a WWE superstar, and this is what they do, and they’re just them.

Back in the ’90s or early 2000s was straight-up all character stuff; it was all gimmicky stuff, but that’s the stuff I love. Like, I’m not gonna be able to wrestle for the rest of my life, so I may as well have this character that I can lean on, which is what I did when I first got signed.

Nobody cared about my wrestling; they wanted to see me hug somebody. I really enjoy doing that kind of stuff, and if you can mix it in with having good tag matches or having a tag partner like Lyra, who legit is one of the top five wrestlers we have in the company, right?”
