Why Nikki Bella Rejected Special Treatment Backstage At WWE Raw
Nikki Bella didn’t want any special treatment.
On the June 9 episode of Raw, Nikki Bella made her latest return to WWE with a pre-announced appearance. More interestingly, the appearance came just weeks before the second all-female Evolution event.
On the show, Bella name-checked several members of WWE’s women’s division, but ended up overlooking Liv Morgan. Unimpressed by the slight, whether accidental or not, Morgan confronted the Hall of Famer before laying her out with the Oblivion.
Nikki Bella Rejected Offer Of Her Own Locker Room
In a new interview with the Toronto Sun, WWE veteran Natalya looked back on Bella’s latest return and praised her for quickly getting back into the groove. The Canadian star also revealed that WWE planned to give Bella her own locker room away from the rest of the women’s roster, but she turned it down.
“So yesterday, in the locker room, they wanted to get Nikki her own locker room. They were like, we’re going to get Nikki Bella her own room, she’s going to have her own space, we’ll put a fruit tray in there and all this stuff that she wanted. She goes, ‘No. I don’t want to change in my own locker room.’
This is what I love about Nikki, she goes, ‘I want to change with the rest of the girls.’ She’s like, ‘I want to be in the locker room with the rest of the girls because that’s the most special place to be. It’s about being with the girls.’ I love that. So she was in the locker room with us, it’s a very sacred place.”
Natalya added that Bella slotted back into the fold like she’d never been away.
“It was so fun because she was in the locker room. The girls just loved seeing her. It was just like she was right back in the groove, like she hadn’t missed a beat. So, that’s the thing that people don’t see behind the scenes of what we do, it’s a sisterhood.
We don’t all have to love each other, we don’t all have to get along 24/7, but at the end of the day, we’re a group of women that really love and respect each other and Nikki understood that. She didn’t want her own room, she wanted to be with us. I love that and I made sure that she looked perfect before she went out.”
Following Nikki’s comeback on Raw, it’s been reported that Brie Bella is now in talks with WWE regarding a surprise return to the company.
Brie hasn’t wrestled since making a brief appearance in the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble. Prior to that, she teamed with Nikki and Ronda Rousey to beat Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott, and Sarah Logan on Raw in October 2018.
